The Oyo State Mediation Centre was established in 2004 to provide alternative dispute resolution mechanism through a non-adversarial forum of settlement of dispute between parties who voluntarily submit their dispute to mediation. The Oyo State Mediation Law was enacted in 2005 and amended in 2017.
The Centre entertains virtually all disputes ranging from Employer and Employee Matter, Family and Inheritance Matters, Debtor/ Creditor, Contractual Matters between individual and Governments, Commercial, Land, Landlord and Tenants, Matrimonial and Child Welfare. Eighty percent (80%) of the complaints lodged at the Mediation Centre were resolved.
